Kansas Abortion Rights Victory Sends Turnout Shockwaves Before Midterm Elections
Voter turnout in Kansas nearly doubles from the 2018 midterm election, with 910,000 voters and counting. The Majority Report crew talks about Kansas voters rejecting the Pro-Life ballot measure, which was written with a double negative. The MR crew discuss how this is a big deal as 50% of abortions in Kansas are from people out of state where it is prohibited. President Joe Biden plans on signing an executive order to invite states to apply for Medicaid waivers for the treatment of out-of-state abortions.

They're all going to start talking about abortion rights a lot more now. Do it. Because this is at the very least the way it's going to be interpreted and I think it would be a mistake to interpret in any other way is that this is a winning issue, and if you box in your opponent, it's going to only help. And you mentioned that Kansas already was a bit of an oasis for people seeking abortions in bordering states for many years, and now it just really cements that history for itself. Like you know what the conflict between Missouri and Kansas and the lead up to the civil war about overseas yeah right and Kansas was is on the right side of that, they seem to most there's some Kansans. Right, right but there is like an interesting history between Missouri and Kansas and they share the border and they share Kansas city as well and people, i would imagine are going to continue to flock to Kansas as this sanctuary state, honestly, for this kind of health care. And so I mean, honestly, Kansans i think should be should be really proud today because this is going to be hopefully something that is replicated in other states where there is just a bit of a democratic toehold where you can protect women in bordering states as well and people who can get pregnant.
