Chicago Bears News & Rumors from today’s Bears training camp practice at Halas Hall:
- Justin Fields and the Bears offense bounced back after a rough practice on Tuesday. Bears’ head coach Matt Eberflus said the Bears cleaned up penalties and overall execution in situational drills. Bears Now host Harrison Graham is pleased by the progress with Fields as the next step is finding more consistency.
- Equanimeous St. Brown buzz: St. Brown reportedly had his strongest practice yet as Fields specifically named him as a “weapon” in Luke Getsy’s offense. Can St. Brown be a starting WR for Da Bears? His size and speed combination makes him an intriguing player to watch.
- Teven Jenkins trade drama continues as Eberflus says he’s still “working with the trainers”. Another report has dropped around a potential Jenkins trade as Peggy Kusinski of ESPN Radio in Chicago reports that the Bears are “actively” trying to trade Jenkins as she even tagged him in the post. Jenkins missed his 6th straight practice and things are getting awkward at Bears training camp at this point.
- Bears vs. Chiefs Preseason Week 1: Matt Eberflus told reporters today that Justin Fields and other Bears starters will play a “good amount” in the preseason opener against Kansas City. Fields agrees with that decision by saying it’ll offer “more reps” and that it will be nice to play against a “different defense.” Chicago visits Kansas City on August 13th.
