Whatever happened to ‘One China’ policy?

US officially acknowledges Beijing as the only legitimate government for the whole of China, including Taiwan, in-line with the ‘One China’ policy. However, this has not prevented Washington from maintaining unofficial relations with Taipei and sending military aid to the island, which led to America being accused by China of stirring trouble in the region.
