Sunday Longplay - Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse Linear Version (NES ROM Hack)

This week on Sunday Longplay, I'm revisiting a game I played on my channel 8 years ago, with a twist! Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse took a few steps forward for the series with different player characters and different paths to take through the game. However, some levels were exclusive to different characters' paths, so playing one level meant you couldn't play another. So one ROM hacker took it upon himself to create a linear version of Castlevania 3 that allows you to play every single level and encounter every single character in one straight run through the game.

8 years ago I played Alucard's path on the much harder second loop, but now I can show off all three paths at once! The order of the levels goes like this:
2:09 - Level 1
6:07 - Level 2 (recruting Grant)
13:32 - Level 3 (recruiting Sypha)
19:19 - Level 4A (Sypha's Path)
25:08 - Level 5A (Sypha's Path)
30:16 - Level 6A (Sypha's Path)
34:25 - Level 7A (Sypha's Path)
39:47 - Level 4B (Grant/Alucard's Path)
42:34 - Level 5B (Grant/Alucard's Path, recruiting Alucard)
49:33 - Level 6C (Alucard's Path)
55:40 - Level 6B (Grant's Path)
59:26 - Level 7B (Grant/Alucard's Path)
1:09:54 - Level 8
1:13:54 - Level 9
1:19:11 - Level A (Final Stage)

Several other minor changes have been made as well. For example, the character switch animation has been sped up. If I ever decide to do a Solo Trevor, Whip Only challenge for a future Sunday Longplay Challenge episode, I will do it on this version.
