US and Iran on War Footing?

The US and Iran are closer to war than ever after the assassination of Qassem Soleimani and neither side seems to be backing down. The US is sending 3500 more troops to Iraq as Iran continues to promise retaliation. Despite this however, I still doubt a major war is on the horizon.
