How To Overwinter Edible Aquatic Plant Beds

You can grow edible aquatic plants on your deck. Use totes that don't drain if you like. But how do you overwinter the beds for maximum nutrients?

This is an excerpt from a tutorial on edible aquatic plants. These beds had kangkong (空心菜), taro (芋頭), and water chestnut (油菜). Reuse beds every year.

Clover fixes nitrogen in the soil. Most of these "weeds" are grass, chicory, and more grass. Everything you pick out becomes mulch to feed the marsh-like conditions.
