Paramotor Sky Jammin + Sketch Landing in Rotor

There are a lot of factors to consider before flying a wing. As a beginner with only ~40 flights I always err on the side of caution when it comes to weather conditions, but this is my first time flying in and out of this park and I completely forgot about the rotor (wind turbulence) caused by nearby objects. I like to think I would have noticed the threat had the wind been as strong during takeoff as it was during landing. Winds were showing 2mph from the ground to 10k feet the entire evening, but picked up speed as the evening progressed. Which is why I decided to end the flight early. Although the windsock feathers were whipping a bit, my pre-flight kiting showed no indication of bumpy air. I did have a failed launch attempt that I assumed was caused by waiting too long between laying out the wing and taking off thanks to trouble starting the motor. Ideally the wind would have come from the West as I expected when I drove out there, but it came from the North, which is the direction of the nearby building. When I hit the building's rotor during landing it caught me off guard and so my instincts were to keep my hands up, because that's what you do at altitude. Thankfully, the second I felt my shoes touch the grass I snapped out of it, raised my legs, pulled the brakes, and managed to do a surprisingly comfortable knee drag for a few meters. I will continue to fly out of this park so long as there is minimal wind and it's not coming from the North. Otherwise, I'll make the extra 20-minute drive to the county airport.
