Sandstone & Oak Hewn Log Bench. Now That's Rustic! Part1 of 2.

Sharon here. What goes best with a DIY hewn log bed? A matching bench at the foot end of it! This is unique, organic decor at it's best. I take the Polaris UTV out to our woods in a natural sandstone creek bed and pick stones of different shapes and sizes for the base. Using a 100 year old hewn oak log from the log smokehouse we disassembled, I take a pressure washer to bring the brilliant warm colors of the sandstone out and the rich oak grain and axe marks. The combination of colors and textures are rustic, original yet functional.
This is part 1 - acquiring and prepping the materials. Stay tuned for part 2 of the final assembly. I can't wait to get it in our VRBO cabin for others to enjoy. Maybe some day you'll be sitting on it!
