Ep. 32 - Painting the Yacht Hull, Fiberglass Hole Repair, Battery Issues

22

After 💨Hurricane Dorian💨 thankfully missed hitting us, we begin work on painting the bottom of ⛵️Full Send.⛵️ A process that included washing with laundry detergent, denatured alcohol, and taping all areas by the waterline we didn’t want to get covered in🎨 paint. We used 5 Coats of ABC 3 ablative paint (2 black, then 3 red)

We run into some battery issues, and attempt to fill in holes in the gel coat only to discover water intrusion in the fiberglass. This causes us to drill it out, and completely redo part of the glass on the transom.
