For this 40 mile overnight Fastpacking & camping adventure, I began at Moulton Falls Park near Yacolt Washington. I began my journey on the Bells Mt Trail. From there, I took Tarbell Trail to the Grouse Vista trail, which eventually brought me to the summit of Silver Star Mountain located in Skamania County Washington.

My route:
Bells Mountain Trail (to Yacolt Burn Trailhead) - about 8 miles
Tarbell Trail (to Larch Mountain Summit, then down to Grouse Vista) - about 9 miles
Grouse Vista Trail (to Silver Star Mountain Summit) - about 3 miles
Total: 40 miles out and back

For those unfamiliar, Fastpacking is a hybrid of trail running and backpacking. It is often used as training for long distance endurance events (such as ultramarathons). The objective is to cover long distances in a shorter amount of time than is typical for backpacking. I like to run as much of the flat and downhill sections as possible, while speed trekking my way up the inclines.
