I know, it's a little bit counter intuitive because if you were to ask anybody how do I better my studying habits, they'll say: "I'm trying to remove distractions and I'm trying to concentrate on what I need to do." And that's partially true. But check this out: when we're studying, when we're truly taking in information, our brains are working very, very hard at processing that information. It creates an energetic charge, it increases our heart rate, it gives us a little adrenaline hit in the brain and all of this is a result of your brain working hard. The problem with distractions is that we're not allowing ourselves this opportunity to "get into the zone", we're not allowing where we fully can be focused on what we're putting into our minds and allow ourselves maximum absorption of that information.
