NASA and SpaceX successfully demonstrated the launch-escape capabilities of the company's Crew Dragon spacecraft during an In-Flight Abort Test on January 19, 2020. The Falcon 9 rocket, with the Crew Dragon, lifted off from Kennedy Space Center's Launch Pad 39A. The test paves the way for the Demo-2 mission, which will send a Crew Dragon with two astronauts aboard to the International Space Station under NASA's Commercial Crew Program. Demo-2 astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley were on hand at Kennedy for the In-Flight Abort Test.
