16V Li-Ion Powerwall Overview

This is an overview of the 16V Lithium-Ion battery power wall setup.

This is still a work in progress and I'll be making a few changes before it will be installed for good in my solar power shed. It's much easier to lay out the parts, make connections, move components around here than it will be in the confines of the shed.

Right now the layout and wiring is somewhat of a mess as things have been added and moved around quite a bit. This layout will help make the move to the shed much easier as I'll know how much room each component needs, what it needs to connect to, etc. I've already identified many items and wires that will not be needed in the final system.

The system consists of an SBMS-120:

Also an EpSolar 4215BN 40amp MPPT charge controller:

A TriMetric battery monitor:

There are 6 Li-Ion battery packs, 4S-20P at capacities in the 32.5AH - 35AH range.

The main purpose of building this 16V Li-Ion system was to gain some real life experience with the battery technology while using a lot of my existing 12V lead acid equipment. With that experience, I've now decided to move forward with a 24V Li-Ion battery system, stay tuned for upcoming videos on that conversion...
