Actual Information: Russia fines Snapchat owner $16,000 for data law violation: Report #shorts #news

A Russian court on Thursday fined Snapchat owner 1 million roubles ($16,667) for an alleged refusal to store Russian users' data domestically, Reuters reported citing Interfax. WhatsApp was also reportedly fined 18 million roubles ($2,98,507) for the same reason. This comes after Russia's competition watchdog fined Google 2 billion roubles ($34.2 million) for breaching competition rules.
