How Christ Fulfilled the Typology Of The High Priest, Hebrews 9:25-28.
Intro: ~ There are at least 8 categories of Christ as our
Melchizedek High Priest in Hebrews.
~ The primary job of the High Priest was to mediate
once a year on the day of atonement between Israel
& God.
~ The word “once” appears in each verse of Heb.9:26-28
& is implied in v. 25 where it is denied that Christ
would suffer more than once.

I. The High Priest Who Offers Himself “Once”, vs. 25-26a

A. The High Priest who enters “once”, v. 25, Heb. 9:11-12
B. The High Priest who suffers “once”, determined from
the foundation of the world, v. 26, Rev. 13:8 (KJV)

II. The High Priest Who Manifests “Once” at the
Consummation of the Ages, v. 26 b-c

A. The High Priest of the 1st century consummation, v. 26b,
-Mt. 13:39-43, 47-50, Mt. 28:20, I Cor. 10:11
B. The High Priest who brings us toward consummation by
His own sacrifice, v. 26c

III. The High Priest Who Dies “Once” & Appears Twice,
vs. 27-28

A. The High Priest who was appointed to die once, vs. 27-28a
B. The High Priest who appears the 2nd time to those He
sacrificed for, declaring their salvation, v. 28b
