Cilanto indoors--How hard can it be?

Lori Fiechter here on a cold and windy Saturday afternoon, musing.

The idea started today when I made pork poblano tacos today and had to make the fresh pico without cilantro. My outside cilantro is buried under a couple of inches of snow right now. If only I had my own supply of winter cilantro...I still had seed left from last year and cilantro readily plants itself all summer (as long as there is moisture) so--how hard could it be?

I went rummaging in the old shed for containers and brought them inside. Stan the man said they were too small and told me where I could find something more suitable. He even let me use the bag of potting soil; said he was going to buy more next week anyway. He told me I could use the extra heating pad too and the extra plastic cover to keep the moisture in. So it's a go!

I'm not exactly hopeful, but nothing lost: the seed is leftover and we can dump that soil on the garden if nothing comes up.

Check back later! And dice up some onions and tomatoes...
