Live: Fed Chair Jerome Powell's Press Conference

Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell's press conference following the Fed's July FOMC meeting and the expected hike to the fed funds rate. The market is expecting a 75 basis point rate hike after the unexpectedly high 9.1% Consumer Price Index (CPI) report for June. At the press conference Powell will likely be pressed for details about future rate hikes and the unwinding of the Fed's balance sheet (quantitative tightening), inflation, and the likelihood that the US enters a recession tomorrow when second quarter GDP is announced.
