U.S. brother and sister dig holes in sand on beach

On the 17th local time, a brother and sister were buried in the sand when the sand hole collapsed during the digging of a sand hole on a beach in New Jersey. Rescuers rescued a 17-year-old girl, who was subsequently treated, but her 18-year-old brother tragically died.
Call recordings obtained by WABC-TV show callers saying they had dug a hole about 1.8 metres deep when the sand buried the siblings. Before rescuers arrived, people around tried to dig them out, when the girl's head was exposed in the sand, but they could not see the boy.
