The UN says the Russia-Ukraine conflict has left many nations vulnerable to food insecurity.

Global food prices are at a near all-time high and more than a dozen countries are banning grain exports.

In Zimbabwe, maize production plummeted by 43% this year following long dry spells.

It's one of the countries now seeking to import maize as well as find alternative sources for wheat and fertiliser previously sourced from Russia and Ukraine.

But can ancient knowledge offer a food security solution?
