Salvador Vilar Braamcamp Sobral ComM is a Portuguese singer, who won the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 for Portugal with the song "Amar pelos dois", written and composed by his sister Luísa Sobral.

"Amar pelos dois" (Portuguese pronunciation: [ɐˈmaɾ ˈp(ɨ)luʃ ˈdojʃ]; English: Love for Both of Us) is a song performed by Portuguese singer Salvador Sobral. The track was written and produced by Luísa Sobral. It premiered on 19 February 2017, when it was performed during the first semi-final of Festival da Canção 2017, Portugal's national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, and was released as a digital download on 10 March 2017 by Sons em Trânsito.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2017 was the 62nd edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Kiev, Ukraine, following Jamala's win at the 2016 contest in Stockholm, Sweden with the song "1944". It was the second time Ukraine had hosted the contest, having previously done so in 2005. It was, overall, the fourth Eurovision event that were held in the country, including the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2009 and 2013. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine (UA:PBC), the contest was held at the International Exhibition Centre and consisted of two semi-finals on 9 and 11 May, and the final on 13 May 2017. The three live shows were hosted by Oleksandr Skichko, Volodymyr Ostapchuk and Timur Miroshnychenko.
