Grains

No one’s denying that grains are a natural, God-given food source…they most certainly are. But most of the grains we have access to today are so far removed from the life-giving, healthy grains of Biblical times that they’re barely recognizable❗

Wheat has gone from 14 chromosomes to 42 chromosomes. It used to be high in protein and low in sugar…the opposite is now true. Some estimates say there’s nearly three times as much gluten in wheat today than there was in ancient times, too. 👎

And grains today are often genetically modified and drenched in herbicides and pesticides. When these toxins make their way into our bodies, they destroy our delicate gut microbiome and damage our cells. The combination of these chemicals with the high carb content of refined grain products drives endless inflammation 🔥 in the body.

We’d all be smart to avoid consuming any kind of grain product when we’re trying to heal our bodies at a cellular level. 🍞 ❌

That doesn’t mean that there isn’t a place for small amounts of ancient, organic, non-GMO grains like quinoa and amaranth in a healthy diet, once the body’s inflammation levels have dropped - there most certainly is! I consume these types of grains myself, and we encourage our students to reintroduce them into their diet after healing has occurred.
