The 2022 Women's Africa Cup of Nations winners, South Africa arrived at OR Tambo International Airport on Tuesday morning.
Banyana Banyana became African champions for the very first time after defeating hosts Morocco 2-1 in the final on Saturday night.
They are only the third nation after Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea to hold aloft the title.
Banyana’s two quick-fire goals were scored by striker Hildah Magaia, who was named ‘Woman of the Match’ at the Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat;
while coach Desiree Ellis was honoured as the CAF Coach of the Year.
Banyan finished the campaign undefeated and were duly awarded the Team of the Tournament honour.
