Heavy rainfall in Brazil's Pernambuco state reaches 100 dead

According to data released by the Pernambuco State Public Security Force in Brazil, on the afternoon of May 31, local time, the floods and landslides caused by heavy rainfall in the northeastern state of Pernambuco have caused 100 deaths. More than 400 staff from civil protection, military and public health departments are conducting search and rescue operations in four landslide areas and two areas where many people were washed away by floodwaters in the state capital Recife.
The state's civil protection department said the heavy rainfall had forced more than 6,000 people to evacuate, and 24 cities declared a state of emergency, considering the severity of the disaster, the state is still at risk of landslides.
