Mid July: peaches, corn, cabbage and a darling goldfinch!

Welcome to our mid-July garden! The onions have all been pulled and are resting in a bed of straw in the old hoglot, the early potatoes have been dug, washed, and kept in the dark, the first planting of sweet corn is kaput, but in a good way. The first tomatoes are finally ripening--Lemon Boy is a very tasty variety! I've canned 3 gallons of pickles--mostly bread and butter. The cucumbers aren't yielding as much now which is fine with me! All-caps fine!

Let's not talk about peaches...they have taken over the living room! I froze 15 pints yesterday but my freezers are getting full so I'll have to can the rest. Good thing Stan bought 5 dozen more canning jars...(Indiana Ball jars for a really good price at Rural King!)
