Chat Sports host Harrison Graham covers the following NBA storylines on today’s video:
- Collin Sexton contract offer? A report out of Cleveland suggests that the Cavaliers have offered Sexton a 3-year, $40 million (roughly) deal. Sexton is coming off a torn ACL and hasn’t had a strong market develop despite being a career 20-point scorer. As a restricted free agent, Sexton doesn’t have the power. He could opt to play the 2022-23 NBA season under the $7.2 million qualifying offer before becoming an unrestricted free agent next summer. Will Sexton opt to re-sign with the Cavs or possibly demand a trade?
- Kevin Durant trade including Bam Adebayo for the Miami Heat? The Heat have reportedly had “internal discussions” regarding the possibility of including Adebayo in a trade for a superstar player like Durant. At least one high-ranking official within the Heat organization is apparently not on board with trading Bam. Will the Heat go all-in to team up KD with Jimmy Butler?
- Donovan Mitchell buzz has quieted down, but the Knicks remain the favorites to trade for the Jazz guard. New York has reportedly turned down an offer from the Jazz that included 6 first round picks, Obi Toppin, Miles McBride, Quintin Grimes and Immanuel Quickley. The Knicks have 8 tradeable first round picks, but would like to keep some of its young talent.
- James Harden contract rumors. NBA Insider Marc Stein reports that there’s a ‘suspicious’ belief around the league that Harden could sign a 5-year max contract with the 76ers next year after agreeing to take less on a 2-year deal with a player option. If Harden balls out for Philadelphia, will Daryl Morey reward him with a major deal next offseason?
