Houston, Texas – On June 22, 2022 at approximately 11:30 a.m., HPD patrol officers responded to a residence at 6721 Langdon Ln where a suspect forced his way into the home and assaulted the elderly residents. While inside the home, the suspect obtained knives from the kitchen. A next-door neighbor, armed with a pistol, also entered the resident in an attempt to assist the homeowners.

Officers arrived and found the homeowners and the neighbor in the bedroom struggling with the suspect. The homeowners told police the suspect had taken possession of the neighbor’s weapon. Responding officers gave the suspect repeated verbal commands to drop the weapon, but instead, he pointed the weapon in the direction of the officers. Fearing for their safety and the safety of the persons inside the residence, the officers discharged their duty weapons and the suspect was struck more than one time. Officers then attempted to provide medical assistance to the suspect until Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived. Paramedics pronounced the suspect deceased.

One of the persons in the residence was transported by paramedics to an area hospital with minor injuries and was treated and released.
