Making The End

We call this soap "The End" because we got the water from the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Montauk, which is the eaternmost point of Long Island- hence it is the end of the island. This soap was fun right from the start. To begin with, my son AJ was tasked with going into the ocean to fill a jar with water and while he was getting out, he slipped and fell in. He was a really good sport about it and we all laughed- even while he sat soaked for the entire car ride home. Using ocean water in soap has a ton of benefits. Besides making a nice, hard bar of soap, sea salt is said to balance oil production and control bacteria. It is great for any skin type.We didn't put it in the video, but we did boil the ocean water before we added it to the soap to remove any impurities. we also added kelp to this soap. Kelp is packed with vitamins and minerals that nourish your skin and help fight free radicals while replenishing the skin with the glycerin from the soap. It is great for exfoliator. Those gritty bits of dried kelp gently remove the dead cells on your skin, which unclogs pores and improves blood circulation- both of which could help to reduce acne. While kelp is a great exfoliator, it isn't harsh on the skin at all.
