• Consumer base who are flexitarians and willing to try plant base meat or alternative meat is expected to increase by 44% over the next 5 years

• In 2021, 13 metric tons of plant based proteins i.e. 2% of the animal proteins market was consumed globally. As per FMI’s analysis, Alternative plant based proteins Could Claim as Much as 22% of the overall Protein Market by 2035.

• In terms of retail sales in 2021, the plant-based meat market was estimated at US$ 5.6 billion in FY 2021 and is predicted to reach US$ 34 billion by 2030 growing at a rate of over 22% CAGR.

• Plant bases beef market accounted for over 2/5th of the global market share, & it is expected to sustain its increasing dominance over the next 10 years while plant-based chicken market holds a 30.7% market share, with market share predicted to decline as this segment reaches maturity and saturation over the next 10 years. Plant based seafood is expected to be the dark horse surging ahead with strong predicted growth in the next decade

• Since 2019, Investments in Plant based Market has seen a jump of almost 540%
• The total investments in the year 2021 totaled around US$5.5-6 Bn
• North America continues to be the largest market that saw the highest plant based investments in terms of deal value, followed by Europe
• APAC appears to be the dark horse and shows a very promising market for investments in plant based seafood market, as this region has the highest consumption of seafood

• In Dec 2021 CULT Food Science Corp. partnered with Singapore cultivated seafood startup Umami Meats. This strategic investment partnership aims to make cultivated seafood much less expensive to produce, and therefore easier for companies to bring to Asia Pacific market.

• In Feb 2022 Canadian Firms secured $200 million to boost the nation's plant-based protein industry has created a fund to support the domestic processing industry.

• As on April 2022, Colorado-based MycoTechnology has raised more than US$ 200 Million with an objective to expand production and distribution of its FERMENTIQ protein product, a blend of pea and rice protein.
