My Father Pays a Visit | Ethiopia 2020

DISCLAIMERS and IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. I ALWAYS pay for the guides even though I don't use one. I care deeply about the guides and I want them compensated. They get a paid day off.
2. DO NOT under any circumstances track animals without proper training. I've tracked wolves for years now and trained under the tutelage of some of the greatest wolf trackers in the world across three continents. I ONLY do this when the following conditions are met a). No other tourists around who would then copy my behavior without training b). approaches always stop prior to changing any animal behavior; if you notice, the wolf never changes the hunt. If it stops hunting (it's current behavior), that is unethical. I am trained to approach in ways that keep the animals and myself safe all while allowing them to maintain their behavior. Furthermore, on almost all occasions, I do not approach animals. It was a rare opportunity with otherwise good conditions to show my father what I can do in tracking animals.

4. Yes, even though we said it was a female, the wolf we recorded for a while was a male.

Part 1: This is a fun overview of some of my father's experiences in Ethiopia. He pays me a visit at a time, here in 2020, when the world seems like it's going to end. What a time to travel. Travel during Covid-19 is an odd thing indeed. Still, we enjoyed our time. It was an incredible experience.
