What is the one key MLS? We will demystify this topic in the following video, I'm Nick at Hauseit. Visit our website https://www.hauseit.com to save money when buying or selling real estate here in New York City, so let's get started.

The OneKey MLS is a new broker listing database also known as a Multiple Listing Service which covers Long Island, the Hudson Valley and all five boroughs of New York City. OneKey is the most widely used MLS system in Long Island and the Hudson Valley. While in New York City it is less commonly used than the REBNY RLS Broker Database operated by the Real Estate Board of New York, also known as REBNY.

The OneKey MLS is a partnership between the Long Island Board of Realtors and the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors. OneKey went live on March 24, 2020 and it currently features more than 47,000 listings. OneKey was formed in 2020 through the merger of MLS Long Island also known as MLSLI or the Long Island Board of Realtors and the Hudson Gateway MLS also known as HGMLS or HGAR.

Post merger there are over 44,000 agents who subscribe to OneKey. The 29,000 members of MLS Long Island and the 14,000 members of the Hudson Gateway MLS continue to use their original respective systems for uploading, editing and viewing listings. However, a listing entered into either the HGMLS or the MLSLI is visible to members of both systems.

So, how do I list my home in the OneKey MLS? Well, the easiest way to list your home in OneKey is by hiring a listing agent who is a member of either the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors or the MLS Long Island. Members of both associations may upload listings into the OneKey MLS system. If you're not interested in hiring a full service full commission listing agent, you may still upload your listing into the OneKey MLS through a Hauseit OneKey Flat Fee MLS Listing. When did MLS Long Island and the Hudson Gateway MLS merge? Well, MLS Long Island and the Hudson Gateway MLS began preliminary merger discussions in June of 2017. And a formal merger agreement was drafted in September 2018. And as we mentioned, the official OneKey MLS system went live on March 24th, 2020.

How is OneKey owned and operated? OneKey MLS is governed by a board of managers that consists of 10 representatives from both the Hudson Gateway Board of Realtors and the Long Island Board of Realtors. The MLS is jointly owned by both HGAR and LIBOR. And in addition, 3 managers representing outside affiliations also serve on the board of managers.
