Movie Star Pearl White’s Teen Years in Springfield, Missouri

Pearl White, The Queen of the serials and Star of The Perils of Pauline grew up in Missouri. Part one covered her childhood in Green Ridge. This episode, part 2, covers her teenage years in Springfield. Her family moved there around 1898. She left to pursue stardom at age 18, around 1907. I visit Springfield locations associated with her life in Springfield, including the site of the theater where her acting career began, the Frisch train depot location and Doling Park. Part three will cover her rise to stardom.
