Ferry County Windstorm 10-Year Anniversary Musings

Finally, another morning commute stream of consciousness talk in the old Jeep! Wind noise, engine noise, and a throat raw from allergy issues made it difficult, but my voice held out all the way into town.

The storm really did have a major impact, both in my life and on our community. Since then we have seen major fires, flooding on the Kettle River, and other emergencies, but none were so shockingly sudden nor so widespread in damage. It certainly made me up my game regarding preparedness, which seems more important all the time as our country picks up speed circling the drain.
