Preparing fire breaks for prescribed burn on wooded property Southern Illinois land management

Today is a short, behind the scenes episode of Pro Staffer Phil preparing fire breaks in the woods of his 85 acre Southern Illinois farm. There are many different methods that you'll see today including some Kioti tractor loader work, some Kioti tractor and a land plane, leaf blower and tractor grapple work. Also prior to using the Kioti tractor, he was using my bobcat T650 CTL skid steer, but he was in a hurry to get the 'newly required' fire breaks done since the prescribed burn team leader added more fire breaks to the list since the first time the prescribed burn assessment was made. But this will give you a decent idea of the methods used to prepare fire breaks for a prescribed burn, especially in the woods. Here is a link to one of the prescribed burns that Phil participated in this spring (which had 15+ foot flames at times): https://youtu.be/yZTt34XBbS0
