Kansas City Chiefs rumors are buzzing today, Wednesday July 20th. Chiefs Report host Harrison Graham covers the following Kansas City Chiefs News & Rumors on today’s show:
- Justyn Ross injury rumors: Ross was seen in a walking boot on an Instagram post that recently surfaced. Ross’ boot is on the same foot that he had surgery on for a stress fracture in November 2021. With Chiefs Training Camp looming next week, will Ross be ready to go? Ross has a deep injury history which is why only 4 NFL teams medically cleared him before the 2022 NFL Draft. Harrison believes Ross could be an IR stash candidate for Kansas City this year.
- Orlando Brown Holdout? Brown has yet to sign his franchise tag tender which means he can avoid getting fined if he skips Chiefs training camp. If Brown holds out, who are some internal replacements for KC at left tackle? Lucas Niang (if healthy) would be the top option to slide over from RT. Prince Tega Wanogho, Andrew Wylie, Geron Christian and Darian Kinnard are some other internal options. Hopefully Brown reports and is ready to play.
- ESPN’s future NFL Power Rankings: ESPN ranked the Chiefs #2 in future power rankings behind just the Buffalo Bills. ESPN uses 5 categories to come up with these rankings which amass the next 3 seasons: Overall roster (minus QB), Quarterback, Coaching, Draft and Front Office. With the trio of GM Brett Veach, head coach Andy Reid and QB Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs figure to be a major Super Bowl contender for years to come.
