Minneapolis Authorizes $500k To Hire Police Officers From Other Agencies After Defunding The Police

You couldn't make this up. After voting to defund the police, which lead to a mass exodus of police officers, the Minneapolis City Council is now begging police officers from surrounding jurisdictions to come work for The Minneapolis Police Department. They are even asking officers that left to come back and have requested and been granted $500,000 to support this effort. This comes after a MASSIVE spike in murder and violent crime following the MPD being defunded and losing police officers.

I wonder how all the #defundthepolice folks feel about this. They wanted less police or more social workers, didn't they?
