Sesame Street Character Disses Black Kids

An employee wearing a Sesame Character costume reportedly ignored two Black children at Sesame Place Philadelphia's annual holiday parade last week, prompting an outcry on social media. The clip shows the two girls wearing Cookie Monster and Abby Cadabby backpacks standing beside the sidewalk as the character Rosita advances down the route. Before reaching the young girls, the character waves at another child and adult, who appear to be white. Sesame Place Philadelphia has apologized and said its employees would receive additional training after the video went viral.
