Tostones Recipe | Easy Fried Plantains

Made with 4 easy ingredients, this tostones recipe is a simple and satisfying vegan snack idea.

Ingredients
1/4 cup of sunflower oil
1 plantain
Sea salt to taste
Onion powder to taste

Directions
1. Peel and slice plantain into 1” thick pieces.

2. Coat a large frying pan with approximately 1/4 cup of sunflower oil and add in plantain pieces. Heat to medium heat and fry for approximately 5 minutes per side, or until each side is lightly browned.

3. Remove plantains from pan and let cool completely. Once cooled, flatten plantain pieces using a small flat surface (I use a mason jar).

4. Add plantains back into frying pan and fry again for 5 minutes per side on medium heat, or until each side has browned.

5. Remove from pan and let cool. Sprinkle with sea salt and onion powder to taste.

6. Serve and enjoy!
