Before I start this video, I just want to say that I no longer have any affiliation with the NRA. I’ve had no contact with them for over a year now, so I have no knowledge about what is currently going on at the NRA.

From 2013 to early 2019 I was an NRA commentator and host of the show NOIR and CN Live on NRATV. I am also a massive Dave Chapelle fan and I think Chapelle is one of the greatest comics to grace our planet.

I said all of that so that you can have some context to help you determine how biased I may or may not be after you watch this video.

On June 11, 2020, Netflix published a YouTube video of a Dave Chapelle standup routine where he commented about the NRA and the “Mulford Act”.

First, let’s clarify a few things. The NRA has never supported an Assault Weapon Ban. When the Black Panthers marched on the capitol, they had shotguns, Bolt Action Rifles, and M1A Carbines, “not assault weapons”.

The law that Dave is referring too was not an assault ban it was the Mulford act of 1967, which was a ban on openly carrying firearms in public.

So let's address... the Mulford act and was it racist?
