On Saturday night, VSO Sgt. Mather conducted a traffic stop in the area of Clyde Morris Boulevard and Beville Road in Daytona Beach. While speaking with other occupants of the vehicle, a passenger jumped out of the front seat and took off running.

Deputy LaFoucade pursued on foot and caught up with the 17-year-old suspect, who turned out to have warrants for robbery with a deadly weapon and failure to appear on charges of burglary of an occupied dwelling, fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, reckless driving, no valid driver's license, resisting and violation of probation.

He was transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice for booking. Another juvenile passenger was issued a notice to appear for violating curfew, one of the conditions of his probation.
