Injuries are unavoidable in most sports where physical interaction is all part of the game. Professional soccer players are usually resilient to minor knocks and injuries. Anything other than an ankle or head injury will usually be walked off or treated instantly on the field. More experienced players are also less prone to serious injury as their alertness and can help avoid any rough tackles before they actually happen. While heroes are expected to be resilient to minor injuries most of the time, players’ in-born instincts can also help to prevent aggravating any potential injury. These instincts raise the alarm for them to seek immediate attention before any injury worsen. Thus, while it is heroic to walk off any minor knocks, it is also in the best interests of the players to trust their body instincts to avoid any long term injury. As the saying goes, “a stitch in time saves nine”.
