Joe speaks on his rise through the ranks as a late bloomer in the amateurs, eventually becoming an alternate for the 96 olympic team which included Floyd Mayweather, Antonio Tarver and Fernando Vargas. Mesi turned pro and quickly had success accumulating a rabid fan base from his hometown in Buffalo, New York. Mesi was referred to as the third pro sports team out of Buffalo..."Bills, Sabres and Mesi". Mesi now looks to get into the promoting business alongside ESPN and bring big boxing events back to Buffalo.
