Growing up

I was born in Salt Lake City in 1990. Growing up, my home life was anything but easy--poverty level finances and drug use in our homemade life even more challenging.

Just before my 10th birthday, I contracted an infection in my spinal cord that largely took away my ability to walk. I fought through it, and after nine months, several biopsies, and multiple doctors, I managed to beat the infection.

At 13, my father was sentenced to 21 years in prison. My mother took the opportunity to make a new start of life with myself and my older sister in Altamont, Illinois. I put myself to work making sure the new chance we had would not be wasted.

Enlisting

In 2007, at the age of 17, I enlisted as a Motor Transport Operator (88M) in the Illinois Army National Guard. In 2008, I was deployed to Afghanistan with the 33rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team in support of Operation Enduring Freedom VIII.

While in Afghanistan, I served as a driver and substitute gunner on a personal security team responsible for the protection of flag-level officers.

After returning from Afghanistan, I went to school, and then became a recruiter for the Army National Guard. It was there I first began to see cracks in the school system from the perspective of the students I was working with.

Family

In 2013, I met a handsome paramedic named Cris. Cris would go on to become my husband, and in 2015 we welcomed our beautiful daughter Amelia into the world.

The next year, in 2016, I bought a CrossFit gym where I focused on elder rehabilitation and helping students who were involved in school sports.

Fitness has been a lifelong passion, and I had always wanted to own my own business-it just made sense!

In 2018, seeing a beautiful land of opportunity, we picked up our family and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. I transferred to the Nevada Army National Guard, where I now serve in Recruiting and Retention.

Free Speech

In 2019, I was set to compete in the Ms. America pageant, before being stripped of my title and disqualified from the pageant because I voiced my conservative beliefs.

After traveling through the state attending events in the lead up to the national pageant, I was certainly disappointed, but I also saw an opportunity.

​

This became an opportunity to speak about censorship of conservative values, and I had the opportunity to have my voice heard in print publications across the nation, as well as on the air with Laura Ingraham, Fox and Friends, and multiple podcasts.

Unfortunately, conservative values are not just under attack in the pageant world; they are under attack everywhere. In no place is that attack more present than within America's public schools. That's why I have chosen to run for the Clark County School Board and bring a new, common-sense conservative voice to the table.

My Platform

In just one year, my daughter will be entering the Clark County School system. Observing where our schools are now, I believe we can do so much better. I am running to bring common sense conservatism to the Clark County School District Board of Trustees. That looks like:

Holding administrators accountable

Introducing school choice to the conversation

Working with schools and teachers to identify what they need to meet their mission

Bringing parents to the table to discuss their children's education

Not accepting a paycheck until every school in District B is raised to the 4-5 star level

We have a long way to go, but I fully believe the best and brightest days for the students of District B lay ahead of us, and I look forward to being able to find ways to serve the students, families, and citizens of District B as best as I can.
