In Rants By Scot, Rant #5, I do a breakdown of the classic 1977 album A Farewell To Kings by Rush!

A Farewell To Kings was a breakthrough album for Rush and went certified gold in the United States, their first one! Recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales, they utilized the rural setting to their advantage and employed natural acoustic settings in recording certain elements of this album, and the result is absolutely stunning, a wide open natural sound. This album was the start of Rush using synthesizers and additional guitars and percussion in their music, and the results were astounding in that they did it all so it could be recreated in a live setting.

I do a general analysis of the album, go through the background, break down the tracks a little bit and point out only a couple instances of where compound meters were used.

This is probably my favorite Rush album, although it's EXTREMELY difficult to pick JUST one Rush album and say: That's The One!
