After listening to this for the first time in 35 years i'm instantly struck by how much better than the first album future warriors it sounds! with this demo and the first album being recorded by the same producer Keith Nichol.. i'm wondering whether this original demo was simply a live performance captured on tape, i bet that's what this is, so in that case it captures the essence and energy of the band way better than the album itself.. in my opinion. We should have recorded the whole album like this, also to note that the song "Carousel".. was written in the first meeting/audition of me dolan and cook, we worked this song out, and later i was surprised to see that it didnt make the final cut of the future warriors album.. which is a shame as it would have been the best track on there, strange band. Also listening back to this i'm reminded of keith nichols production style, for me at the time i thought that my guitar was too quiet in the mix, and yes here i am listening to this 35 years later and still think the guitar is too quiet, what he's done is add too much reverb to the guitar which has pushed it to the back of the mix, this was a trait with nichol recordings i can hear it in Venom and even Avengers albums of that time period, people will say that its very much a part of the Neat Records sound!.. low fi etc, kind of cool, i agree but i still think the guitar's are too quiet.
