Watchmen: The End is Nigh (PS3, The Complete Experience) Gameplay Sample

Watchmen: The End is Nigh Complete Experience takes the two previously Downloadable only Watchmen games and combines them on one disk. My copy is used, but apparently the retail version also included the movie on the Blu Ray Disk as well.

This is a solid beat 'em up, and it's nice to know that there was a physical release for this game, as opposed to being digital only. It looks like only the PS3 got it in physical form. Not sure why, maybe it has to do with the included Blu Ray movie with the game.

As for XBLA and PSN games go, this is a well made, beat 'em up that doesn't have much extra to it, at least for the first episode which is all I have played so far. The graphics a good, and the levels are large an interesting enough that I find myself wishing there was more to finding them, outside a few hidden items. I wish there was more to explore.

That aside, the beat 'em up gameplay is solid for the genre, and this does support 2-player coop play. As you play, you unlock new moves and combos, and the game does have a very generous counter attack system, similar to the over-generous one in the original Assassin's Creed. However, it does allow you to take on large groups of enemies at once, and avoid the frustration of getting smashed in the back mid combo while surrounded.

I haven't beaten either episode, but I can already tell you this is a super linear, but solid game overall. Get a second player to fight along side you.
