Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster's Hidden Treasure (Gen) Gameplay Sample
One of Konami's weirder Genesis/Mega Drive efforts, Tiny Toon Adventures is a pretty solid platformer-with-attitude that is a blending of Sonic and Mario. Buster can eventually get up to speeds almost as fast as Sonic in his sprint, but the levels are more Mario in nature meaning you'll rarely need to speed across the map. So far, I haven't come across many areas that take advantage of Buster's sprint ability. I guess it's kind of like rom-hacking Sonic into a Mario game only to find out that Sonic's speed has no advantages in levels that weren't designed to take advantage of it.
This is still a pretty fun platformer for Genesis/Mega Drive owners, and one of the handful of Konami games released on the Genesis. I wasn't a huge platformer fan in the 16-bit era. By then, I was more of an RPG fan, and a beat em' up fan. Plus, Street Fighter, and Mortal Kombat and their clones. Of course the mandatory Sonic and Mario were a thing for me, but beyond those two, I didn't really play this genre at the time.
