More than 7,000 seal carcasses found off Namibian coast
According to Reuters, the nature conservation agency "Namibia Marine Conservation" said on the 23rd that the number of seal carcasses washed up on the coast of Pelican Point in the coastal city of Walvis Bay in Namibia has risen to more than 7,000. The surge in the number of female seals has led marine biologists to suspect that a shortage of food for seals caused by the exodus of fish from local waters may be the main cause of the incident, but disease or the presence of toxic substances in the water cannot be ruled out.
