Thoughts/Questions

1. Does the punishment fit the crime? Is the HOA the appropriate venue for deciding that?
2. Police did not press charges. Would it have mattered to this HOA?
3. 6 years for one kid from age 12 to 18…common grounds, playgrounds, pool, parking lots and tennis courts until he is 18 years old. He’s now 12. Other kid gets a year and then look into the situation again.
4. According to the father of one of the boys, the association cannot ban anyone from the areas for more than 60 days
5. The board won’t speak to media but did send a letter to the parents saying it was their belief that it was inappropriate to talk to the press and that the board is “aware of postings and dialogue on social media” How chilling is that?
6. Are you ok with non-government disciplinary boards? HOA’s, Universities, etc. Is the answer as simple as just finding a home that isn’t in one of these HOA’s?
7. What are the parents doing? They are trying to shine a light on what they feel is injustice. Is this the best way to handle this?
