Intro : A neighborhood “artist” has put up a display with barbies, nails through their arms, and blood. His front yard is covered with computers, Tv’s and other electronics

Thoughts/questions

1. This is why people want to live in an HOA.
2. Is your front yard the appropriate venue for Art? Or does it belong in a public space?
3. Do you support your neighbor when they put “art” in their yard?
4. If this artist had a rural piece of property….is he going to be putting this art up? So, if no one could see it, would he still do it?
5. I get free expression….and I don’t understand why people are feeling this need to put stuff all over their yard…yesterday I saw a huge sign, “we love our grandparents” across the entire front of the lawn….what is it about wanting to show others these displays?
6. How would you respond to this art display? Move? If you go to your neighbor and say, “hey man, I have kids, we’re just trying to do our thing, would you take it easy on the displays of gore and violence?” What do you think he’s going to say? I have a right to display my art on my property!!! The person is doing it to draw attention to themselves or their “art”…Do you think they have any care about you?
7. Is the “kids” argument getting old? As in, you can’t do that because I have kids…or I had to explain to my kids that you are a terrible person…is there a way we could simply say, Hey, I don’t like this? Maybe use “friends” instead? My “friends” don’t like this…I just think using your kids in every argument gets old. In a perfect world, your kids shouldn’t have to deal with anything adults manage to screw up…but the world isn’t perfect.
7. Does the type of Art display matter? If this fellow puts a couple of life sized bunnies in his front yard, are neighbors complaining?
8. There’s a “balance” I don’t know where it is…but there’s got to be a way we can all live together in peace.
