Hockey Canada reopens probe into allegations of sexual assault

Hockey Canada is reopening a third-party investigation into allegations of sexual assault by members of the 2018 World Juniors hockey team.

Hockey Canada said participation in the investigation by the players in question is mandatory, adding anyone who declines will be banned from all of the federation’s activities and programs effective immediately.

A number of prominent corporate sponsors dropped Hockey Canada for quietly settling a lawsuit brought by the woman, who says she was assaulted by eight players.

Her allegations were never tested in court, but as Abigail Bimman reports, the settlement triggered outrage and some feel Hockey Canada needs to do more.
